Kanye West Cancels Performance On ‘Today’ Show

Those who were expecting Kanye West to show up for his performance on the “Today “show must have not seen his uncomfortable interview with Matt Lauer. after George Bush told Lauer that West’s racist remark during Hurricane Katrina was the worst moment during his entire presidency, West was then brought into the studio to talk about his take on the matter.
The interview was full of silence, muttering, slight outrage for showing relevant clips during his answers and more. after exiling himself from interviews with the press and streaming all his thoughts on Twitter, we can’t decide if the in-person chat with Lauer hurt or helped him. We’re leaning more toward the former but you can decide for yourself by watching the interview below. as for the situation, West has already made up his mind on his feelings toward the interview. He’s canceled his “Today” show for “obvious reasons.”
Although Matt Lauer had already highlighted some of the tweets Kanye spat out immediately after the interview, West stays firm in his decision to not perform on the show. the reasoning behind this move was revealed in the following tweets:
“I’m not performing on the Today show for obvious reasons [...] “I’m so happy the world got to see just a small piece of ‘the set up.’…I blatantly said I’m not performing on a tweet and to everyone around me and the next day they still announced a performance… do you guys see what I’m saying now?”
Even though we may not expect Lauer to get another interview with West again any time soon, the rapper did try to rationalize his statements:
“I don’t hate Matt Lauer. We don’t promote hate. That’s the whole point!!! I promote love and truth!…All positive energy … all smiles. much love to Matt and the whole Today show. I accept ya’ll future apology in advance LOL!”
If you watch the interview below and are familiar with West’s ego, you’d agree with us when we say “We saw this coming.”
They may have spelled his name wrong, but do you think Kanye West’s decision to cancel the “Today” performance is justified?
