Facebook is doing it again. Earlier this year, it was the celebrity doppleganger. now the popular social networking site is encouraging users to change their profile picture to that of a childhood cartoon.

But which do you choose? a child of the late 80s/early 90s like myself (born in 1983) might choose a character or scene from “Bobby’s World” or “Recess.”

Some other options?: “Hey Arnold!,” “Doug,” “Rocko’s Modern Life,” “Ren & Stimpy,” “Beavis and Butthead,” “Ahh! Real Monsters,” “Rugrats,” “Rainbow bright,” “Strawberry Shortcake,” “Muppet Babies,” “Smurfs,” “Tiny Toons,” “Masters of the Universe.”

Moving away from television, why not use your favorite animated movie from your childhood? There’s “The Little Mermaid” and “Beauty and the Beast.” “Aladdin” and “The Lion King.”

I’m thinking that She-Ra would make a great profile picture for myself.

The older generation of Facebook users do have a bit of an advantage though: they get the classic cartoon characters from Warner Bros. and Disney.
