How many cities or areas were hit in Japan? How long was the tsunami in time duration?

In short, many. the whole of the North East coast was very badly affected, cities such as Sendai were very badly affected both by the initial earthquake and the tsunami. It may be 5,10 or even more cities affected, it really depends on your definition of a city. the tsunami quickly moved inland and affect other cities on or close to the coast. because of Japan's generally mountainous terrain in inland areas of the country the water did not spread too far inland. Tokyo the capital of Japan also felt some of the affects of the earthquake, however the Tsunami did not affect the city as badly as many other cities. I hope I have answered your question icon smile How many cities were hit by the tsunami in Japan?
