difference between japan earthquake 1995 ( in Kobe ) and japan Earthquake 2011 ( in Tohoku )

Completely different. the no. of victims, scale, damage, stricken area range, everything of Tohoku(2011) is much huger than Hanshin quake(1995).
The scale of Hanshin (1995) is Magnitude 7.3 and its epicentre was Akashi Strait, thus Tsunami was little. Many people were crushed to death.
The scale of Tohoku (2011) is M9, the biggest quake in Japanese history and its epicentre was the offing of Sanriku, that is, the Pacific ocean. Many people died and still missing due to the mammoth Tsunami.
This quake caused Tsunami and radiation crisis, so we can say it is triple disaster.
Tokyo is far from the offing of Sanriku, I guess, at least over 400km, however, there was nearly M6 quake.
The people in Tohoku prepared very well against quakes and tsunamis, and there was the huge seawall of the highest technology in the world, however….no words….how can I say….

Bigger and caused a tsunami

….the date?
