Steve Canepa, Charles Edwards Indicted in Connection With Cuyahoga County Corruption Investigation

Another day, another domino. In this case, two dominoes actually.
According to reports, Steven Canepa, the former business manager for Maple Heights City Schools, and Charles Edwards, owner of C. Edwards Landscaping Inc., were charged for allegedly defrauding the Maple Heights school district out of loads of cash.
The indictments stem from the federal investigation into the pervasive and clumsily obvious corruption in Cuyahoga County.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office said 43-year-old Steven Canepa and 42-year-old Charles Edwards, both of Mantua, were indicted on Thursday.
Canepa, who is the former business manager of MHCS, was charged with one count of theft concerning programs receiving federal funds, two counts of conspiracy to commit bribery concerning programs receiving federal funds, one count of Hobbs Act violation, and one count of mail fraud.
Edwards, who is the owner of C. Edwards Landscaping Inc., was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit bribery concerning programs receiving federal funds, one count of Hobbs Act violation, and one count of bribery concerning programs receiving federal funds.
Both are expected to appear in federal court in Akron on Thursday.
If the recent string of cooperation by lower peons in this mess is any indication, expect both to plead and talk to the feds about everything they know.
