The very puzzling McNabb signing – ProfessorBainbridge.com
Stunned. I am literally stunned. of course, I'm not alone:
Peter King: RT @dombonvissuto: in NFL year where Favre's penis made headlines and Randy Moss has played for 3 teams, McNabb news may be most surprising.
What? You haven't heard? News out of DC is that my Washington Redskins have signed Donovan McNabb to a 5 year deal:
The deal, which locks in McNabb until 2015, includes $40 million guaranteed and could be worth up to a maximum of $88 million, including $10 million in incentives. the deal averages $15.5 million per season, according to the source.
I don't get it. McNabb took the Eagles to one Super Bowl, which he lost by throwing three key interceptions. He lost multiple NFC championship games (5?). This season he's 4-4, with a passer rating of just 76.0, which is 29th in the league. his 8 INTs have him tied for 10th. He's thrown only 7 TDs, which is 26th in the league. his completion percentage is 29th and his YPA is tied for 17th. He simply has not performed at an elite level this season.
Why on earth are the 'Skins locking themselves into McNabb this way? to rebut the racism allegations?
Here's another puzzler:
did McNabb think the Redskins were about to revoke the offer? If so, why didn't they?
