Tanya Shannon Still Missing After Car Accident That Killed Her Husband
Tanya Shannon, an a 40-year-old Illinois woman who walked away from a fatal car accident in which her husband was killed, is still missing. according to the Chicago Tribune, police found Dale Shannon, 41, dead in his wife’s car. Footprints in the snow indicate that someone left the car, perhaps after the crash occurred, walking to the road, where the footprints ended.
According to CNN, Shannon was last seen with her husband at a Christmas Party Saturday night in Streator, seventeen miles west of Ransom. The couple left the party in what seemed like an amicable state. Dale and Tanya Shannon were married for twenty years and have four daughters, ranging from four to fifteen years old.
In a police statement: “The deputy found a male occupant of the vehicle in the driver’s seat deceased. Evidence at the scene indicated that a second person was also in the vehicle at the time of the accident. further investigation revealed that the second person was possibly the wife of the deceased driver.”
The mystery lies in Shannon’s change in character. described as being a “loving mother,” those close to Shannon say that it’s unusual that she hasn’t contacted her family. For now the search continues for Shannon. Tom Templeton, LaSalle County Sheriff, said he has never seen a case like this in twelve years.
