PurinaCare Insurance Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nestle Purina PetCare Company, dedicated to providing pet owners with a Lifetime of Care for their pets, recently signed a partnership agreement with SWBC. as a part of this agreement, SWBC will add PurinaCare’s pet health insurance to the current suite of high-quality insurance products and customized solutions it offers to financial institutions from coast to coast. this initiative is aimed at enabling businesses and organizations offer low-cost benefits to their members and employees.

When you adopt a pet, it becomes a member of your family and its health and wellness become as serious a concern as of other members of the family. thus your pet requires and deserves health insurance coverage the same way your kids do. this has led to the huge demand for pet insurance products in the recent years. this trend in the pet care industry motivated financial services major SWBC to sign the agreement with PurinaCare.

“In the last few years, pet insurance has become increasingly popular for pet owners. According to Packaged Facts, the estimated number of insured pets is approximately 850,000 in North America. And, as that number grows, we are excited to partner with PurinaCare to bring this product to our financial institution partners, so that their clients can benefit,” Frank Castellano, Director of SWBC Insurance Partners, explained.

With the dramatic advancement in veterinary science, the scope of pet health care has widened and with that pet-health care expenses have skyrocketed too. Under this circumstance, the PurinaCare-SWBC partnership came as a timely initiative.

“The partnership between these two San Antonio-based companies will result in a cost-saving opportunity for hundreds of thousands of pet owners across the country,” Dr. David Goodnight, President and COO of PurinaCare said. “Pets are members of the family. Having pet health insurance as a member benefit is a convenient and cost-effective way to manage the rising costs of today’s advanced veterinary technology” Dr. Goodnight observed.

PurinaCare is committed to educating member associations and employee groups about the benefits of pet health insurance. it is a nationwide mission for the company. the group plan offers a discount on premiums to employees and affiliate groups with a minimum of 100 employees or members.

A five percent discount is applied to any PurinaCare Pet Health Insurance policy. it becomes even more lucrative for the pet owners, who wants to insure more than one pet— a 10 percent discount is applied when more than one pet is insured.
