Gay porn star Cal Culver claims he had an affair with Superman star Christopher Reeve
A gay porn star has sensationally claimed from beyond the grave that he had an affair with Superman star Christopher Reeve.
In new book Hollywood Babylon Strikes Again, Cal Culver gives details of their relationship in an interview conducted before his death in 1987.
Culver, who died of an Aids-related illness, alleges that he met Reeve when they were both auditioning for a Broadway role in the mid-1970s.

He wrote: ‘Christopher was a great lover and I think I liberated him sexually. I didn’t think he was gay but he seemed willing to try anything once. He was curious.’

In the book extract, obtained by the Globe, Culver claims Superman star Reeve was ‘the man of my dreams’ and says that the pair had a passionate two-month relationship until Reeve discovered Culver was a gay porn star, performing under the name Casey Donovan.
The news may come as a surprise to the millions of Reeve fans who saw the star enjoy a healthy 12-year marriage to wife Dana.
He also had a son William with Dana, as well as children Matthew and Alexandra from a previous relationship.
While Reeve is perhaps best known for his role as the macho superhero Superman, he also took on a role in 1982 film Deathtrap, which saw him share a kiss with co-star Michael Caine.
Reeve died in 2004 of heart failure, nearly a decade after he was paralysed in a horse riding accident.
Reeve was paralysed from the shoulders down when he fell from a horse in 1995. the accident turned him into a worldwide advocatefor spinal cord research.
Reeve was being treated at Northern Westchester Hospital for apressure wound that he developed, a common complication for peopleliving with paralysis.
The wound had become severely infected,resulting in a serious systemic infection.
Dana Reeve, Christopher’s wife, said in a statement at the time: ‘Onbehalf of my entire family, I want to thank Northern WestchesterHospital for the excellent care they provided to my husband.
‘I also want to thank his personal staff of nurses and aides, aswell as the millions of fans from around the world who havesupported and loved my husband over the years.’
