Don Ura Koen, 67, passed away at his home Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010 following a lengthy illness.

Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. today at Hargrave Funeral Home, with burial in the Morgan City Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Rose Spinella Koen; one son, Bart Ura Koen and wife, Ann, of Berwick; two daughters, Jodi Mire and husband, Keith, of Berwick, and Donna Bergeron and fiance, Michael Blanchard, both of Berwick; one brother, Irvin “Do” Boudreaux and wife, Pearl, of Westwego; three sisters, Edna Guccione of Gretna, Barbara Koen and Gwen Elliott, both of Bayou Vista; two brothers-in-law, Melvin Spinella and wife, Elsie, of Houma, and Benny Spinella of Thibodaux; seven grandchildren, Abbie Rose, Cate Margaret and Anna Claire Koen, Kayla Rose, and Brodi Patrick Mire, and Dylan Thomas and Blake Ura Bergeron; one great-grandson, Kaydon Anthony Rios; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charly James and Laura Arcemont Koen; his mother and father-in-law, Bartel and Marie Rock Spinella; and two nephews, Salavore Guccione and David Guidry.

Hargrave Funeral Home of Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.
