We reported on the rumor already, but now both Courteney Cox and David Arquette confirm their breakup.

The couple just released the following statement, acknowledging a trial separation:

“We have agreed to a trial separation that dates back for some time. the reason for this separation is to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage. We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply. as we go through this process, we are determined to use kindness and understanding to get through this together. We are comfortable with the boundaries that we have established for each other during this separation and we hope that our friends, family, fans and the media also show us respect, dignity, understanding and love at this time as well.”

Meanwhile, Life & Style is reporting that David Arquette is already moving on with a new girl: Ryan Seacrest’s old flame Jasmine Waltz!

Jasmine, a 28-year-old bartender slash aspiring actress, has not only worked at various Hollywood hot spots (from Les Deux to Bella), she’s also dated a number of high profile celebs aside from Seacrest (including Jesse McCartney and Chris Pine). And then this past summer, Lindsay Lohan herself accused Jasmine of punching her in the face at West Hollywood club Voyeur.

Damn, the girl has quite a reputation! But is she also responsible for breaking up David and Courteney’s marriage?

Another big issue in this couple’s troubled relationship is Arquette’s past drug abuse – in 2003, the actor admitted to quitting using heroin, cocaine and speed to be with Court.

He said: “I wanted my mom to know I was safe, even though she had already passed on. I wanted Courteney. I knew that she would never be with me with a drug problem, and I wanted to grow old with her.“

Courteney herself gave him an ultimatum: “I knew that I could never be with someone who did drugs. it would not have worked for me. I don’t have any tolerance for that because I think it would scare me so bad.”
