A Good Long Look at Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter
In an earlier and much shorter featurette, Johnny Depp explained that he plays the Mad Hatter like a mood ring, with all the emotions very close to the surface. In the latest teaser from the apparently inexhaustible fountain of previews of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, we gets lots of new footage showing off the Hatter’s many sides, and many moods.
Whether he is making terribly impolitic remarks about the size of the Red Queen’s head, flinging his hat like Oddjob in Goldfinger, or sharing an emotional moment with Alice, his sheer madness really does always shine through. Along the way there’s also a much better look at the battle on the life-sized chess board, and new glimpses of the various colorful denizens and surreal landscape at the other end of the rabbit hole.
