Where a $50 Happy Hour Might Actually Make Some Sense Grub Street Los Angeles

Happy hour should generally be cheap, especially if you’re talking about a watered down Popov cocktail at the closest dingy dive. but if you want 30 grams of caviar and two caviartinis, it will cost you $49 at Petrossian. the restaurant recently launched its own happy hour after a few weeks testing it out on the DL, held from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Monday through Saturday. They’re offering a $29 option for smoked salmon and two glasses of champagne, but if you’re not here for caviar, then really, why are you here at all? In addition to the 30 gram tin, the restaurant is offering two martinis with an olive stuffed with caviar and a teensy caviar cube. and yes, you’re even permitted to split it, making it perhaps the easiest way to get in and out of Petrossian with your savings still intact.
