I believe in Miracles … An Actor's Journey: Meet the cast of my …
I am rehearsing with my hand puppets for my TYA monologue. The audition is tomorrow. Here is the star cast of my piece….
It’s a lot of fun. I just hope that they feel the same way
I guess it’s mostly about going big or going home. I think I’ll do well if I just go for it. I showed it to three people and they all laughed their heads of, so I think I am on the right track, I just need to deliver… I’m also rehearsing/revisiting my clown piece. I don’t want to over-rehearse it though. I know the structure and the rest will just be improvised within the structure. I find that this works best for my clowning.
I am also going to practice my stage reading for tomorrow. We have our first read thru tomorrow. but I would like to make a good impression, so that he will cast me again for the summer festival that he was asking me about yesterday. That would be awesome… I was super inspired yesterday. I came home and learned and rehearsed a poem (Do not go gentle into that good night) and I did some accent work as well.
Tomorrow we will watch the Oscars at a classmate’s house. it will be fun. She wrote: ” I have a big screen TV with high definition, so that you can see every tear drop of every best actress nominee!” LOL. I am curious to see who will win. There are some tight categories this year! We probably will do some betting, and I haven’t decided on all the categories yet.
Btw remember that my acting teacher was criticizing my physicality or lack thereof. So my director of my last show said in a talk back when somebody asked about the 17th century ninjas “I specifically cast those three actors because I knew that they are very good physical actors”. Hmmm, I don’t know what to believe. but I think I could use some more physicality (especially after I saw that good play) but I think I don’t have to take the teachers comment all too personal…
