If you were watching the Lifetime network on Thanksgiving (and yes, we admit it, we were), you probably saw a preview for the TV movie based on so-called “Craigslist Killer’’ Philip Markoff, the Boston University School of Medicine student who was charged with armed robbery, kidnapping, and murder, and awaiting trial when he killed himself in the Nashua Street Jail in August. Lifetime, which made a TV movie of another sensational Boston crime story, the one about Karl “Clark Rockefeller’’ Gerhartsreiter, is calling its tale about Markoff, simply, “the Craigslist Killer.’’ the movie will air Jan. 3. Playing Markoff will be handsome young actor Jake McDorman, who’s on the ABC Family show “Greek.’’ Playing Markoff’s former fiance, Megan McAllister, is “Private Practice’’ and “24’’ actress Agnes Bruckner. Billy Baldwin takes on the role of a detective. as far as we know, none of the scenes were filmed in Boston. Last we heard, the TV movie was shooting at UCLA.
