The Barefoot Bandit is actually a 19-year-old teen named Colton Harris-Moore, and the funny part of this story is that his mom was disappointed he chose to escape to islands that have extradition agreements, according to the UK Guardian.

“I’m glad he’s able to enjoy beautiful islands, but they extradite,” Barefoot Bandit’s mom Pam Kohler said. “It doesn’t help matters at all.”

Colton got his nickname, the Barefoot Bandit, because he left footprints at his crime scenes that revealed he wasn’t wearing shoes. his crimes are of the theft type: cash, boats, cars and airplanes. he has not had any formal flight training.
