Are you as astonished as I am by the courage of Elisabeth Fritzl?
The thing that always strikes me when I see pictures of the cellar dungeon in which her monstrous 'father' incarcerated Elisabeth Fritzl and her children is the pictures on the walls. Evidence that Elisabeth did her best to keep the place cheerful for her children. it makes me weep to think of her trying her hardest to raise those poor children; evidently not blaming them for their conception.
My heart goes out to her and her children. May they live in sunshine all their lives.
Your thoughts?
Unbelievable.
Her life ruined. Physically and mentally tortured beyond all comprehension by that despicable monster, yet still has the strength to face him and testify against him in court, in front of the world.
I think Austria should give her an award, as a special case, for bravery. it is the very least this woman deserves.
It's crazy, she is a remarkable woman, and it shows what hells humans can actually endure
call me a wimp but I cannot bring myself to read about it. all I know is that the man is evil through and through and knows no difference similar to Fred West.
This lady has so much grit and she must have a blind faith to see her through. I just hope that they are all able to adjust mentally and physically to living a normal existence (what is normal).
i'm astounded Skidoo…the way she tried to brighten up their lives is a testimony to how strong & brave she is.
Sometimes when things get rough, i think of her and my life just falls into its right perspective.
I think its survival instinct and as you say courage in the face of unimaginable depravity and torture.
It's like when I hear tales of amazing courage during wars or whatever and I ask myself would I have that inner resolve and determination. I would like to think so but a large part of me doubts it.
She fought for her life and the life of her children and despite the ramifications that they will have to deal with they have won..however cruel the hand they were dealt – they won .
The human spirit is strong, but how this woman has survived and brought up her children is astonishing.
I had a horrible thought the other day, her farther is in his late 70's, what would have happened if he had suddenly passed away?
Would she have been able to get out of the cellar, or would she and her children have slowly starved to death with no one knowing anything about them or their predicament. did the children above ground know they were there?
It doesn't bare thinking about.
You are right Skidoo, she is a remarkable woman and I wish her the best for the rest of her life.
She's an incredible woman. for anyone to give evidence like that is something which takes a huge amount of courage, but given what she has been through and for how long, plus the fact that the eyes of the world are watching this case, it is truly remarkable. and yes the pictures of the cellar have always amazed me, she really did try and make a home for her children which shows what a dedicated and loving mother she though she was going through such torture.
I wish her and her children all the best for their lives now. I'm not sure she will ever have an normal life, or if her children will, but I hope they get some peace from the fact that justice will be done.
yes what a remarkable woman she is,what she did for them children is truly amazing
my heart goes out to that poor women.
Yes. She is truly a warrior. I cried myself to sleep for one week thinking about Elisabeth Fritzl. She truly did her best and it still doesn't fit in my mind how strong she is. I hope that no papparazzi ever finds her or the children and that she may live a private life.
i was thinking along the same lines when i read that he didnt speak to her for the first nine years, seems wrong to call him a father somehow, i think i would have hung myself in the first year, i know i would have tried antway.. god bless her and her wonderful children .
