This is not very Christian behavior, is it? Why are so many churches run by hypocrites?

ATLANTA – The 80-year-old leader of a suburban Atlanta megachurch has been charged with lying under oath, court documents show. a warrant for the arrest of Archbishop Earl Paulk, co-founder of Cathedral of the Holy Spirit at Chapel Hill Harvester Church, was issued Monday, according to court documents. Paulk was making arrangements Monday night to turn himself in to authorities, WAGA-TV reported.

Paulk's attorneys did not immediately return calls from The associated Press for comment.
Former church employee Mona Brewer is suing Paulk, his brother, Don, and the church for allegedly manipulating her into an affair from 1989 to 2003 by telling her it was her only path to salvation. in a 2006 deposition stemming from the lawsuit, the archbishop said under oath that the only woman he had ever had sex with outside of his marriage was Brewer.
But the results of a court-ordered paternity test revealed in October that Paulk is the biological father of his brother's son, D.E. Paulk, who is now head pastor at the family's church. as part of Brewer's lawsuit, eight women have given sworn depositions that they were coerced into sexual relationships with Earl Paulk.
A judge ordered the paternity test at the request of the Cobb County district attorney's office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, which were investigating Paulk.
Cobb County District Attorney Pat Head declined comment when reached at his home Monday night.
Paulk and his brother, Don, have been hit with multiple lawsuits from former members alleging they were coerced into sexual affairs, but this is the first time criminal charges have been filed against the archbishop.
All men fall short of being "moral" because of their sins whether they are Christians, some other religion, or other state of non-belief.
While non-believers can say that they are "good" this is only because all they have to use as a measuring stick is their peers. (who are also sinful). God makes the perfect measuring stick for sin, because He is perfect.
Without God's Law, and without Jesus' sinless example, we would all be ignorant of our sins.
No one in this world will gain entrance to Heaven on their own works. it is only through Gods gift of Grace, in the sacrifice of His son.
However, faith without works is dead, and all humans should strive to have high "morals", and follow the example Jesus Christ set for us when He was flesh.
God Bless You.
We all fall short from the glory of God
I know, it is sad **shakes head**
This is what the world is coming too
Many are in sheep's clothing
One bad apple certainly does not ruin the whole bunch. The media are decidedly anti-Christian, so any hint of impropriety is treated mercilessly, whereas the Church is simply a hospital for sinners, rather than a mausoleum for saints – as most non-believers wish it to be.
Matthew 13:24 Another parable He set before them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man sowing good seed in his field. 25 but while the men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went away. 26 but when the stalk had sprouted and produced fruit, then the tares also appeared. 27 so the servants of the master of the house approached and said to him, 'Sir, was it not good seed you sowed in your field? from where then does it have tares?' 28 "He said to them, 'an enemy has done this.' so the servants said to him, 'do you wish then that we should go and gather them up?' 29 "but he said, 'no, lest gathering up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. 30 Leave both to grow together until the harvest; and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather together the tares, and bind them into bundles to burn them, but gather together the wheat into my barn." ' "
Tares are poisonous weeds that look just like wheat until it's almost time for the harvest.
Matthew 13:36 Then having dismissed the crowds, Jesus went into the house. And His disciples came to him, saying, "Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field."
37 He answered and said to them: "He that sows the good seed is the Son of Man. 38 And the field is the world, and the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the evil one. 39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. 40 Therefore just as the tares are gathered and burned with fire, thus it will be at the end of this age. 41 The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who work iniquity, 42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then the righteous will shine forth like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!"

CHRISTIAN UNDER CONSTRUCTION,SITE WILL BE UNSIGHTLY.
money and power corrupt
Thank God Jesus is not like that.Jesus is love.
Jesus will never forsake you .Nor will He fail you.
He is always there for you.He saves you and stays
with you.Jesus is Lord and Jesus is God.
We're all sinners. We're all trying and failing every day. I
don't care who you are. Pope,Shaman,Imam,Tibetan Monk.
We all fail.
It's just a little more obvious or heartbreakingly public
with some.
Churches are run by people and people make mistakes. It's not an excuse it's a fact.
The one without sin, may cast the first stone.
It's not my place to judge.
He went through all that trouble just to get laid???
All people are sinners. anyone who claims not to be one is a liar, therefore a sinner.
BECAUSE, by the deeds of the law there shall no person be justified in God’s sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin and all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:20, 23
THEN, They all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:12 also I say unto you, whosoever shall confess me (Jesus) before men, him shall the Son of man (Jesus) also confess before the angels of God: but he that denies me before men shall be denied before the angels of God. Luke 12:8-9
HOWEVER, The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
FOR, Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me. John 14:6
THEREFORE, if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. Romans 10:9
THEN, He that overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white robes; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. Revelation 3:5
SO, That whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:15
God made gave us laws MAN made religions Christianity(i think i spelled it right lol ) started 100 years after Christ died …… why? maybe cause he and hes followers would not approve of it FOOD FOR THOUGHT
God is perfect; Christians are not perfect.
You make mistakes, I make mistakes. being a Christian doesn't mean that you won't make them, because God knows that we all do. That's why he sent his son, Jesus to die for us so we can be forgiven. I think one of the biggest misconceptions on Christians is that we are perfect, or that we think we're perfect. but the truth is, we're obviously not. We just try our hardest to resist temptation and live to God's ten commandments. I'm definately not perfect, or even close to it. but I'm so blessed to have someone that will forgive me no matter what I do. That doesn't mean I should have the mindset to do whatever I want and then ask God for forgiveness. That's not how it works. We want to try to live to his commandments and when we don't then we ask for forgiveness because we genuinely want it and are trying to live for him. but I do understand what you're saying about the whole hypocrite thing(but not every Christian is one!). unfortunately we live in a world where not everyone is who we say we are. And it's really sad when leaders mess up and people judge them AND their religion. just remember that's between them and God. You're best role model is God, and he's NEVER a hypocrite. I hope this answers your question, and that I didn't bore you to death. :]] God Bless!! if you have any questions you can email me at joyhaslove@yahoo.com. thanx!!
Why are governments why are atheist, its a human condition, its the very reason Christ came here! The leaders of that church are under a harsher penalty than you or I as they are responsible for teaching the word of god which they manipulated! they will receive just rewards,if they do not repent!
I dispute your assertion that "so many" churches are run by hypocrites. it is flawed logic to assert that, just because of one or two evil guys running one church, that MANY churches are full of hyprocrites. There are some, to be sure–like that awful character in Kansas City who disrupted the funeral of that Marine a few months back. Picking on a the grieving relatives of a deceased young man is NOT very Christian, by anyone's criterion.
But you know, I'm not going to give you a knee-jerk defence of my fellow Christians, some of whom disapoint me and some of whom infuriate me. I will say that there are a lot of Christian people who appear to be hyprocrites. I know that for a fact, because I am both a Christian and a hypocrite myself.
As a Christian, I set very high ethical or moral standards for myself, and frequently fail to achieve them. There is an extent to which that makes me a hyprocrite–even though I don't go around boastfully talking about how righteous I am. I will say, however, that I at least try to achieve my own goals, and to be the kind of person God wants me to be.
Please do not let the evil of one guy blind you to the fundamental decency of the vast majority of my fellow Christians.
If I pointed to one dishonest Arab and said Arabs are untrustworthy, or if I pointed to one lazy Mexican and said all Mexicans are lazy, you would accuse me of being racist. And you'd be right, too.
Apply that same standard to yourself, and to your question about Christian hypocrites running churches. To do less would be hypocritical, wouldn't it?
Boys will be boys
We all know there are some bad cops out there. I could come up with a few examples in just a few minutes. Would that mean most or all police forces are evil?
All this means is Christians shouldn't look up to preachers as if they are some kind of pure, flawless person. They should be aware that some good people give in to the temptation of evil & some are creeps who were evil to begin with. but MOST preachers are good people.
That is Why Paul said;(Ephesians 5:10) 10 Keep on making sure of what is acceptable to the Lord;
(1 Thessalonians 5:21-22) Make sure of all things; hold fast to what is fine. 22 Abstain from every form of wickedness.
And Jesus said;(John 8:32) 32 and YOU will know the truth, and the truth will set YOU free.”
(John 17:17) . . .Sanctify them by means of the truth; your word is truth.
If it's not from god's word it's false.you have a reference the Bible.
If you choose to sit on you but's and let these charlatans tickle your ears, Then you get back what you put in. do not Blindly Follow Men.(1 John 5:19) . . .We know we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the [power of the] wicked one.
One must realise that there are so many hypocrites around us. We even meet them almost daily, either they are from amongst our family members, friends, neighbours, politicians, or even our office colleagues and the so-called village religious preachers. And these hypocrites are smart enough to disguise themselves in various forms of noble behaviour and positive personal qualities. of course it is quite difficult to detect tell-tale signs of hypocrisy amongst individuals, until and unless you get negative feedbacks from others that you also know.
The worst hypocrites I think are the politicians worldwide. They often make promises that they never keep; they always hide the truth or simply will tell lies; and when they are entrusted with responsibility they shirk or even breach the trust given; and over time they always become highly untrustworthy beings. The three character traits just mentioned above are the key trademarks of a true hypocrite.
So don't be surprised if you discover one day that your local politician is a cheat & a sex maniac and that your local preacher too happens to be a child molester or a gay.
These type false prophets/pastors/teachers are Not
Christians, they are only peddlers selling God's name
for their own gain whether it be sex, greed or power.
…or all three. The Bible warns us of them.
I used to wonder if they actually believed that they are
God's anointed, but I've since come to the conclusion
that they are non-believers and know full well what they
are doing. no true believer in Christ could ever, ever,
ever do what they are doing.
They are not mere humans who are making mistakes
and need forgiveness. They are corrupt sociopaths bleeding
the body of Christ and "are getting it while they can."
Hey, if there is no Hell then what's the problem?
I'd tell you what they really "Need", but I'd be accused of
judging and touching God's anointed…LOL
Yes, and God will deal with them in His own time.
The best we can do is to put the documented truth "out there" about these people and possibly save others from their abuses.
As Paul Crouch, Jr. said on a google group site:
"no matter what you say or do…nothings going to change."
I saw that as a bit of a challenge. (thanks Jr.)
There is something we can change and that is OPINIONS.
We tell two people and they tell two people and so forth.
Word of mouth is a powerful thing, it can even close the
purse strings. (take that Jr.!) ….The internet is a
really BIG mouth.
If we Are living in the end Times and people Are falling
for these type Preachers/Pastors/Personalities,
how easy is it going to be for the Anti-Christ?

No one is perfect:
Im assuming that you are though:: because youre presumptuous enough to assume that all christians are hypocrites;
Everyone, at one point, goes against their own beliefs, do something they swore to themselves they wouldn't, or tried to cover up a mistake they were embarrassed by. it varies person to person, not religion to religion. so what? That is between those people and God, their wife/husband or whoever is involved. other people shouldn't care unless it directly or indirectly affects them.
