Sending robots into the past sounds like science fiction. It’s the basis of “Terminator” and other movie plots. But now, something called a stereo-photogrammetry robot is helping a 3,000-year-old city come …

Wild Video of Rambling Gunman at Florida School Board Meeting

Submitted by admin on Wednesday, 15 December 2010No Comment

Note to potential copycats: if you’re going to subtract yourself from this world, it’s not right to take others with you against their will, no matter what you perceive to be their crimes against you or humanity.

1292414437 93 Wild Video of Rambling Gunman at Florida School Board MeetingA 56-year-old Florida man named Clay Duke attended Tuesday’s Bay District Schools school board meeting, where he sat quietly through the part of the meeting in which children were honored for their achievements.

When it came time for the concerned citizen portion of the meeting, Duke stood up, painted a red V on the wall with a circle around it (an homage to V for Vendetta), took out his firearm and ordered the room cleared.

CNN has more on this horrific story: At that point, Duke, as seen on the video provided by CNN affiliates WJHG and WMBB, began a rambling discourse that included the firing of his wife and sales taxes. Someone was going to die, he said.

The confrontation ended in the gunman identified as Duke calmly firing at the school officials before he is wounded and, according to police, taking his own life.

At first, school board members and Superintendent bill Husfelt tried to reason with Duke, who had a criminal record. they talked about possibly finding a job for Duke’s wife or looking into the case.

The following video is 1990s Fox-level graphic and should be watched with caution.

The board members are still alive only because this guy’s such a horrible shot from close range.

Here’s the full video — at :45 seconds, board member Ginger Littleton tries to attack Duke with her purse. She should be lucky she or anyone else wasn’t shot:

Some more background from CNN’s report: a biography on Duke’s Facebook page reads: “My Testament: Some people (the government sponsored media) will say I was evil, a monster (V)… no… I was just born poor in a country where the Wealthy manipulate, use, abuse, and economically enslave 95% of the population. Rich Republicans, Rich Democrats… same-same… rich… they take turns fleecing us… our few dollars… pyramiding the wealth for themselves. The 95%… the us, in US of a, are the neo slaves of the Global South. our Masters, the Wealthy, do, as they like to us…” …

According to the website of the Florida Department of Corrections, Duke was sentenced in 2000 for aggravated stalking, obstructing justice and throwing or shooting into a vehicle.

According to the Panama City News Herald, after six months of stalking a former girlfriend, Duke confronted the woman outside her home on Oct. 20, 1999. he was wearing the mask and vest and holding two .22-caliber guns. he threatened to kill her, then kill several others and then himself, the newspaper said. when the woman tried to drive away, Duke shot out a rear tire.

It’s getting scary out there. What was once a nation of barroom brawlers is slowly morphing into an armed, angry citizenry. We’ve got people shooting up the Holocaust Museum, people flying airplanes into federal IRS buildings, people throwing bricks through legislator’s windows and sending white powders to their offices. People all over are pissed off and acting on it. this is, sadly, just another in a long line of vengeance-seeking Americans at the end of their ropes. It’s not likely to get better in 2011.
