Sending robots into the past sounds like science fiction. It’s the basis of “Terminator” and other movie plots. But now, something called a stereo-photogrammetry robot is helping a 3,000-year-old city come …

1268643625 Tourney Dunk vs CBI Dunk (Video)

Everyone knows that there is a huge difference between the NCAA Tournament and the NITs. I know a bunch of people that refer to the NIT tournament as the Tournament to find the 65th best team in the country. Sad, but unfortunately true. Hey, I guess the bubble teams need love too!

So how big is the gap between March Madness and the College Basketball Invitational? These are the teams that didn’t even make the NIT tournament. Are you kidding me? do we really need a competition to see who the 97th best team in the country is? Don’t we already have the Ohio Valley, Southland and the Patriot leagues to figure that out?

I could use all kinds of stats to demonstrate how ridiculous the existence of the CBI is (the creators insisted on having an easy acronym so they could be like the NIT), but a picture is worth a thousand words. in fact, if a picture is worth a thousand words—how many words are these videos worth?

Tell me which one you think is from the NCAA Tournament and which one is from the CBI. Here’s our first entry:

And here’s the 2nd dunk:

I think its pretty clear which dunk is from a contender and which one is from a pretender. Jeremy Pargo of Gonzaga made Steve McNees of Akron look like he should be playing in the CBI after this facial. One of them has a brother in the NBA, the other plays in the Mid-American Conference.

What can you say about the 2nd dunk? Adam Waddell looks, well, like he plays for Wyoming. It’s amazing that he didn’t hurt himself on the play—he was just trying to give Blake Griffin something to strive for. as tough as Griffin’s flip was against Morgan State, he wasn’t the first college basketball player to go head over heels this week. But it’s like our parents used to always say: it’s all fun and games until someone dunks and almost hits his head because he holds onto the rim too long. by the way, Wyoming lost to Northeastern. I guess their dreams of becoming the 97th best team in the land will have to wait until next year.
