I’m sick to my stomach over the reaction of some of our fans, to react in such a way over a 19-1 team is incomprehensible and inexcusable…The fact that someone would take time out of their lives to bash a 18-20 year old who has given blood, sweat, and tears for the team they claim to support is mind boggling…for 3 of our top players to take the time and comment over the criticism they, their teammates, and their coach have received over the first loss of the season is sad…do these “fans” think this helps the team improve? do these “fans think it helps the team’s confidence? do these “fans” think it helps Cal attract the “best of the best”? do these “fans” think it will keep us from losing ever again? If they would answer “yes” to any of these questions they need to be locked in an asylum.

During the Tubby years it was difficult to take at times, you could argue with his tactics but the personal attacks on him and his son made it tough to be a part of a fan base that would turn on it’s own in such a vicious manner. Gillespie was similar, I had questions of the hire from the start but was willing to give him a few years to settle in, but some “fans” gave up after a few games. Rich Brooks? Don’t get me started. Lee Todd? Booed every time he’s introduced at Commonwealth Mitch Barnhardt? gets it worse than anyone. this HAS TO STOP…I’m the last person to condone censorship but places like Rivals HAS TO START MODERATING THE SITE BETTER…say what you want about Maggerd, but he’s got those guys under control and no one will bash players or coaches..it makes the logical fans look bad, it makes the university look bad, it messes with the players heads, it runs off recruits and if anyone doesn’t truly believe this they are absolutely clueless…would you want to go work for a company where your customers complain about every mistake you make? you wouldn’t if you had other options, and the recruits we’re going after have PLENTY of options…and don’t kid yourself, it’s a larger % of fans that are the crazies than we care to admit, and the old “they’re just trolls from other school pretending to be UK fans” is ridiculous. I’m not sure what can be done, but something needs to be done. It’s impossible to change people’s minds because they don’t have the intellect to debate rationally, I don’t say that to be arrogant that’s just reality…we just need to drown out their voices…freedom of speech is a right, membership to a message board is a privilege, plain and simple, time to wake up and start revoking privileges
